Sergei Sereda of ITAR-TASS writes from Caracas: The health of President Hugo Chávez is a hot subject in Venezuela these days. After he suddenly left for Cuba to have medical treatment, the locals came up with all sorts of reasons why Chávez had left for the Island of Freedom once again.
According to the official version, Chávez went to Cuba to have hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This is a treatment involving the use of oxygen under high pressure in hyperbaric altitude chambers.
In June 2011, Chávez was operated in Havana to remove a cancerous growth and had four courses Chavez heads back to Cuba for medical treatment (latino.foxnews.com) of chemotherapy.
