The Official Top British Albums Of 2012

British Music Scene Album sales were down in 2012. Is this the beginning of a trend?
Freddie Matthews writes from London: Naturally what you think is the best album of 2012 will be very different from what I think it was and so on. What cannot be argued with however are official sales statistics from The Official Charts Company, here in the UK.

Its no secret in 2012 album sales were down 25%. consuming music has changed a lot and people sharing music they have in collections with friends on social media community websites through an application called Spotify.

Rihanna - Unapologetic

Coldplay did surprisingly well perhaps because other competitive musicians re-releases like Michael Bublé’s  Christmas album an album very similar to the album released the previous year.

 One Direction did even better, releasing good music and standing behind the popular musical giant equalizer X-Factor 2010.

One Direction (Photo credit: Eva Rinaldi Celebrity and Live Music Photographer) Lana Del Rey spent a reasonably long time in the  Album Chart perhaps because of the song  Born To Die a single released early in 2012 and later received a BRIT Award for International Breakthrough Act.

Ed Sheeran plus

Any musicians who got an invite to the London Olympics 2012 ceremonies again received decent sales.
2013 projections are given for albums and popular albums that will perhaps sell lots of copies. Read all about Rihanna, Adele, One Direction and Coldplay all safe bets.
